IO1 - Toolkit for tackling Learning Disabilities in Math
Objectives of activities carried out:
- Translation of questionnaires A1 and A2 to the portuguese language;
- Contact and meeting with teachers;
- Diagnosys the knowledge of maths learning difficulties and disabilities among teachers;
- Creation of questions for questionnaires B1 and B2;
- Analysis of the students' results in maths;
- Preparing application of the questionnaire B1 and B2;
- To obtain permission for students to answer the questionnaires;
- Testing of the questionnaires B1 and B2;
- To obtain results from questionnaires B1 and B2;
- To identify students with difficulties in Math;
- To categorize difficulties in math;
- To create intervention tools;
- To create monitoring tools;
- To review intervention and monitoring tools
- To translate intervention and monitoring tools
- Testing of the intervention and monitoring tools
- Translation of the intervention and monitoring tools to portuguese
- Production of the final testing report
Description of activities carried out:
- Analysis of questionnaires A1 and A2 with math teachers at school;
- Contact the school psychologist to discusse the SMiLD project;
- Contact with 5 teachers from the Emídio Garcia school;
- Application of 5 questionnaires A1 and A2 to 5 teachers;
- Mathematics teachers filled in the questionnaires;
- The results were sent to the coordinating institution;
- Mathematics teachers have created questions for questionnaires B1 and B2;
- Mathematics teachers analyzed students' results in maths;
- Analysis of the examples of items presented in the questionnaire B2;
- Mathematics teachers have created permissions for students to answer the questionnaires;
- Questionnaires B1 and B2 were applied to students and the results were analysed;
- The results of B1 and B2 were sent to the coordinating institution;
- 6 intervention tools were created;
- 6 monitoring tools were created;
- Intervention and monitoring tools were sent to the coordinating institution;
- Intervention and monitoring tools were reviewed;
- Intervention and monitoring tools were translated to portuguese
- Intervention and monitoring tools were tested
- Final testing report was produced
Results Achieved:
- Questionnaires A1 and A2 in portuguese language
- The level of familiarity with the problem has been diagnosed
- School teachers have been involved
- Questionnaires A1 and A2 have been collected, analysed and reviewed
- Questions for questionnaires B1 and B2 have been created
- Document for authorization have been created
- Questionnaires B1 and B2 were applied;
- Results of questionnaires B1 and B2 have been collected and analysed
- Intervention and monitoring tools were created
- Intervention and monitoring tools were reviewed
- Intervention and monitoring tools were translated
- Intervention and monitoring tools were tested
- Final testing report was produced
