BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION

Since 1889, the historic mission of Dante Alighieri Society is to spread interest and passion for Italian
language and Culture among foreign learners. Its objective is to protect and develop Italian
language and culture world-wide, by organizing courses of Italian language and culture for foreigners,
and promoting cultural activities. Its Head Offices are in Rome, and there are 550 Committees all over
the world, of which 450 are abroad. The Prague Commettee was founded in 2005. In the space of a
few years, it achieved the sympathies of hundreds of students. It organizes a whole series of group and
individual language courses and it is also the only one to have a specific Czech language teaching for
Italian-speaking people. The Prague Commettee is qualified as a PLIDA Exam Center and is the only
center in the Czech Republic to be authorized to organize such examinations. In addition to teaching
activities, it organizes conferences, exhibitions, concerts, cultural exchanges and theme meetings.
SDA is a member of the Czech Italian Chamber of Commerce and it can count on the support of many
partners who offer discount and concession to the society’s members and students. It collaborates with
cultural centers spread on the Czech Rep., with Universities and Embassies.

HOW THE ORGANISATION WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION OF THE PROJECT RESULTS

The Society offers excellent skills in managing relations between the various institutions. Its experience
concerns the organization and implementation of meetings and cultural exchange events between
students, teachers, professors and researchers. It also works on the continuing education of teachers.
