IO1 - Toolkit for tackling Learning Disabilities in Math
Objectives of activities carried out:
- to create the Questionnaires A1 and A2
- to involve teachers of Italian Associate partner asking them to fill the Questionnaires A1 and A2 in
- to collect the results regarding the Questionnaires A1 and A2
- to analyse the results and discuss with the partners the most common problems of learning Maths
- to create examples of questions for the Questionnaires B1 and B2 for students and to share it with the partner countries
- to define the Questionnaires B1 and B2 for students
- to analyse of questionnaire B1 and B2.
- to develop interventions and monitoring tools.
- to apply interventions and monitoring tools.
- to evaluate the testing activity
Description of activities carried out:
- UNIGE-DIMA Project Team Alignment;
- Division of tasks and responsibilities within the UNIGE-DIMA team by the coordinator;
- Informing via emails about the project the school community and teachers;
- Diagnosing the knowledge of maths learning difficulties and disabilities among the teachers of the Associate partner schools;
- Periodic meetings with the teachers of the schools involved;
- Preparing the Questionnaires A1 and A2 for teachers (in English and in the Italian version);
- Sharing the Questionnaires A1 and A2 for teachers with the other partners in order to have feedback;
- Identification and adoption of an interactive IT tool for filling in questionnaires;
- Upload the Questionnaires A1 and A2 for teachers in the partner countries languages and in English
- Collecting the questionnaire A1 and A2 administered via a web interface;
- Analysing the questionnaire A1 and A2 (data analysis, discussion of results within the team, sharing with partners)
- Preparing an example of a list of the exercises for Questionnaires B1 and B2 for students (in English and in Italian) Aims: 1) Questionnaire B1 to make an initial analysis and single out those students that do not have difficulties in mathematics. 2) Questionnaire B2 to better understand students’ profiles of difficulty.
- Defining the Questionnaires B1 and B2 for students with the partner countries
- Designing interventions tools and monitoring tools
- Presenting Intervention and Monitoring tools to the teachers to be applied
- Application if the interventions tools
- Proposing to the teachers the Evaluation Questionnaires
- Analysing the questionnaires analysis [XLS]
-Writing the evaluation report on testing activity
Results Achieved:
- Questionnaires A1 and A2 in English and in Italian have been prepared
- Questionnaires A1 and A2 in English have been sent to partners to translation
- School teachers have been involved
- Questionnaires A1 and A2 have been collected, analysed and reviewed
- The level of familiarity with the problem has been diagnosed
- An example of a list of the exercises for questionnaires B1 and B2 for students has been created
- Questionnaires B1 and B2 in English and in Italian have been prepared
- Questionnaires B1 and B2 in English have been sent to partners to translation
- Questionnaires B1 answered by 200 students
- Questionnaires B2 answered by 200 students
- Intervention and monitoring tools created and reviewed
- Intervention and monitoring tools discussed with the teachers and adapted to be applied in the pandemic situation
- Intervention tools applied in the classrooms
- Evaluation questionnaires analysed
- Evaluation report on testing activity written
