BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ORGANISATION

Casa de Trabalho Dr. Oliveira Salazar – Patronato de Santo António is a Foundation of Social Solidarity, created in 1940, by the Diocese of Bragança-Miranda and has its headquarters in Bragança. Casa de Trabalho represents a dynamic building of Christian humanism and a center of pedagogical, technical and heritage resources, based on its action in a personalized approach that educates and conscientiously the experience of free, responsible and effective citizenship. The Casa de Acolhimento welcomes male children and young people, from 6 to 18 years old, mostly from the district of Bragança. The reasons that justify institutionalization relate to situations of family neglect, risk behaviours of parents (alcoholism, prostitution, domestic violence), affective and economic deficiency, school problems, physical and psychological abuse, deviable behaviours.
Direct intervention with students develops at the school/professional, psychological, family, pedagogical, sports, musical and health level, with the objective of promoting their healthy development and social integration.
